As of today... a little bit more

The stamping up close and the pantry (the weird blue tube in mid-air is actually a water line where the whole house filtration system will get installed!

As of today... the inside

The kitchen, the master bath vanity, guest bath vanity, upstairs built-in bookcase,

As of today... the outside -- so close but not yet!

The front, the garage side, the back porch and deck, and the stamped concrete finish on the front porch (supposed to look like slate).

The inside -- a beginning

The stairs
The Master Shower
The family room
And the kitchen... all very early on in their install.

The Land

The hand in the image is where the house is going in. You can kinda see a square there, that's the front part. Then the larger sorta rectangle with the trail around the edge is the rest of the land. The thicker trees at the bottom of the image are where the stream is.

Views!

View from the back upstairs bedroom.

Windows and Brick work

The roof sticking out of the back of the house will be a screened in porch, with a deck next to it. The upper gable on the front of the house is Kelsey's bedroom. Oh yeah on the house plans we didn't vault the family room ceiling. We closed off the loft and made a bedroom, and the space above the family room is walk-in storage! The sheet rock guys messed up and sheet rocked the room for us (bummers).

Next up the framing continues.

The house project to date

Hi all! Mark, Kelsey and I have been building (yes again) a new house on 9.5 acres in New Market since just before Christmas 2007. We are closing in on the finish line. I keep meaning to e-mail out pictures and never remember.

Bunch of pictures to follow starting with just moving the dirt to now!

To see the house plan go to www.frankbetz.com and search for the ALTAMONTE plan. We have mirrored the house from the original plan.

First up the dirt pile, then footers, and the start of framing. That concrete tower you see is not an elevator shaft, it is our master bedroom closet (aka the safe room!).
